Hi All,
I've been comfortably using DP8 with 10.9.5 and had to upgrade my os to 10.11.6 for some other software. Now DP8 is sluggish, takes a long time to boot up but, more importantly, the counters and wiper don't physically move even though the program is running; they stay still while playing/recording then, when I hit stop, all counter numbers and the wiper move to the correct place. Strangely, when I hold down the play button or any of the popup menus with the mouse, DP appears to work normally.
Using an Ultralite mk 3. All drivers up to date.
Has anyone seen this and is there a fix?
Thank you
Jack

EDITED:
EDIT: I had thought the latest OS DP 8 can run on is 10.9, but apparently I was mistaken. (Thanks MH)

Re: DP8/os10.11.6 Conflict
I would reinstall the last build of DP 8, reboot in Safe Mode (Shift key held down till it asks you to log in—do so and let the desktop rebuild), reboot again and see if you still have a problem. There's a chance you won't. This resets your caches to default and repairs system paths. If you had generic alias icons, you'll notice those are now showing properly.
OS 10.11 sandboxes the root — any plugins making calls to files stored there no longer work properly (Soundflower comes to mind). This may be part of the problem as well. Most plugs were upgraded but a few never were. Lots of old threads on this and disabling SIP to let them run (Not recommended now but sometimes necessary then). Many USB issues, all resolved but some involved updates. It made other changes including doing away with OS X Permissions Repair.
DP 8 and Mavericks were released around the same time and this was a big problem for while but that was all resolved.
