MIDI playback through players problem

Post by Phil O »

I'm having a problem with pre-gen on MIDI tracks. When using players (it's happened on several, Aria Player, UVI, and others), sometimes playback will be fine and sometimes there's about 1/2 second delay. The problem goes away if I keep the player open (run in real time). The manual says you can disable pre-gen by record enabling the MIDI track, but that doesn't seem to work. I thought I saw a discussion of this somewhere, but I can't find it. Help! :?

Leaving the window open is the only way I know of, much to many's consternation. Where in the manual is the part about arming the track?

...Ok, p.906 in the manual. Record enabling the track works for me, at least as far as the Effect Performance Window shows.

Hmm. That's what I was afraid of. It's a PIA leaving the window open, but for now it's all that's working here. Thanks for the feedback.
