I recently upgraded to the newest Macbook Pro. I was able to get my 828mk3 Firewire working with a firewire to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor connected to a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adaptor. Things were working fine when my Mac went out. Apple replaced the logic board and the touch bar. All my info was wiped, so I migrated everything back over with my Time Machine backup. Now my Mac doesn't recognize the 828.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling drivers. (Although on MOTU's website where it lists the download for "MOTU Audio Installer" it says "Installs latest drivers and software for:..." and the 828mk3 isn't listed). I've also tried using a different Thunderbolt port and using different unrelated devices on those ports to make sure it isn't a problem with the port - the ports work fine.
Any advice? Not sure why it would have worked and then stopped. I've ordered an M4 to finish up a project that I have a deadline on, but it would be nice not to have to fork out money when I have a perfectly capable audio interface.
Help getting my 828mk3 talking to Mac again...

Did you enable the drivers? This needs to be done since High Sierra:

Re: Help getting my 828mk3 talking to Mac again...
He migrated a Time Machine backup to his new Mac, the security settings are already in place unless his backup is from before he installed the driver.
Only thing I can think of is your TB adapter crapped out on you or maybe the FW cable/port? I dont suppose you have a FW Mac to test it out natively with?
The latest MOTU Audio installer should support your MK3 even though its not listed. My MK2 works great with it and isn't listed either but its all working great. The driver always supported the entire lineup of their interfaces, so they would've had to go out of their way to not support these two this time, as they've always used the same driver as everything else. If another unit's still got firewire and a current driver, the 828s will live as well, Id bet even the original one is still working.
