Exactly! OS's are always in flux but the last batch has been really fluxed up! There! I got to almost use a curse word but in context even James wouldn't fault that... (would he...?) :shake:

Now I'm terrified at the prospect of plugging my phone into a computer to update Podcasts. All the computers I have that run DP are on High Sierra or Mojave (but not the dreaded Catalina). Can I assume I'm immune?

Well I took the sage advice and updated to High Sierra. Seemed to work. Plugs were back. Since I was in this vulnerable state with a little time cushion on the next project, I upgraded to Mojave. Then I made the mistake again! I plugged the phone into a USB port (which was supposed to only be a charging port, BTW) and all my plugs are gone from DP again.

The plugs are all there in Finale, so this is definitely a DP problem.

I reinstalled DP 10.11, restated the Mac but no love for my plug ins. They be gone!

I'll phone MOTU in the morning, but this kind of sucks. MAchFive runs in Finale but is not seen in DP. M5 also runs fine in standalone mode. So what the fudge is it about DP that is making this suck so bad?

So sorry to hear that.
I will keep my phone away from my computer.
Thanks for the warning.
All is well

iOS 13 ‘patch’{RESOLVED}

Post by MIDI Life Crisis »

Spoke to Matt at MOTU tech support. The call got in and answered within a minute or so this morning. Thanks, Matt!

There's a fix... as long as you don't plug your damn phone into your Mac. $&^*#(*#$^&*!!!!!!!

In your user preferences folder move the following to the desktop:

com.motu.MotuAudioSystem
com.motu.DigitalPerformer
com.motu.DigitalPerformer.plist

Start DP 10.11 (there's no DP 10.12 so the title of the main thread is erroneous). If you want to get back to your old preferences, the com.motu.DigitalPerformer folder can be moved back into the preferences folder. Key bondings and other view settings, etc., are held there.

I'm up and running again and you can be too! lol

And just to put a cherry on top... I was forced to connect the iPhone 8 again to set up wireless sync. Restarted and all plugs are in place! So it may be that once this all got straightened out in the system, the connect via lightening cable direct to the Mac may be OK again, but I'm not taking any chances. It's wireless sync for me. YMMV.

This is just way too complicated after just one glass of wine. Nonsense like this should just not happen 60 years into computing.

A Cherry 3000 can short out in an un-named futuristic film so I guess nothings perfect really.

Wow, this is the first time I've been inspired to use iCloud backups...

Thank you for the warning on this problem. I was considering upgrading to iOS13 soon. I guess I will wait a while longer...

Y'know, I used to like being pretty bleeding-edge with technology. I am now firmly dragged-kicking-and-screaming-edge. Sigh.

And........ it's back. All MOTU plugs in DP 10.0 are gone! I did upgrade my iPhone iOS last week to 13.5.1 but don't think I plugged my phone into the computer except a charging port that is not connected to USB. I tried the previously mentioned fix of moving files to the desktop but that didn't fix it.

I'm starting to get a little tired of all the workarounds and bug issues in DP 10. I'll call MOTU in the morning, but this is truly bogus.
