Motu AVB/ES users - Audio Control or DAW monitor mixes?

Post by dickiefunk »

Hi,

I have a MOTU 828es and am pretty new to the Audio Control DSP app. I'm wondering how other AVB/ES users set up their various independent headphone mixes? Do you use the Audio Control DSP mixer or the options within your DAW e.g. Control Room in Cubase?

I do a combination of the two.

I mix the DAW sources down within the DAW (not in the 828). For the live voice/instrument, I do DSP effects (e.g., reverb), and then send that back out into a headphone mixer that combines the DAW mix with the live voice/instrument.

What he said. Plus in some cases it pays to output individual tracks from DAW to the AVB mixer with faders in the AVB mixer at unity, so people can do their own mixes without tailoring the DAW mix to them.
