Hi All,
i have never been able to create a MIDI patch list in DP for my Kurzweil Pc3. i find vague information out there but i have no idea how to set it up, so that my MIDI tracks recognize the PC3 and the patches.
if i am asking the right question, My Kurzweill k2500 and all its 200 sound patches show up in a MIDI track list, so if i want to use the patch number 3 brightGrand that appears in the track name.
I have D9.51, an Mac Pro 2012 3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon (probably ancient to you) and MAC OS 10.13.6
if anyone can give me the For Dummies Version of how to do this, i would be ever grateful!!
thanks in advance.

I can't give you the "For Dummies" version. And I am barely qualified to offer any guidance.
In this location:
YourHD/Library/Audio/MIDI Devices/MOTU
You will find files & folders. The files are .middev and .midnam
The .midnam files contain the program lists for devices with their patch numbers.
You can find one that might be similar in structure, like a K2500 (in the Kurzweil folder). Open this file in TextEdit, and drag the window to be fairly wide so all the indented items display correctly. Now resave this as a different file name (hold option as you look at the file pull-down menu, and choose save-as). Now start to replace anything that you can recognize in the header, and start replacing the patches in the list.
Now, obviously, you'll not want to type in, what? 2000 program names? So the task would be to use some kind of macro (an automated process) to get program names/numbers from a published list from Kurzweil into this edited .midnam file in a way that follows the given format.
Easier said than done, I imagine.

There is a PC3A patch list here that you can use as a starting point: https://digicake.com/midnams/ You'll have to work out your own .middev entry. You can model that from the ones supplied by MOTU.

Taking a peak at a .middev file it looks like it contains lots of basic info about the MIDI device including what type it is and how it responds to MIDI control. Seems like adapting a K2500 .middev will get you very close to a PC3.

A PC 2 might be a closer match. I can send you that file as well. All my patches show up fine in all version of DP.
