DP10 Clips / Triggering via MIDI
Ok, so I'm trying to fire some scenes/clips via MIDI. I have been able to successfully assign controller buttons to scenes/clips via both my usb MIDI foot pedal, and via a Keyboard connected via traditional MIDI to my MOTU Ultralite. In both cases it assigns, but for the life of me I can't get them to actually trigger. I've tried with "Enable MIDI Bindings" checked and unchecked. I can successfully use my same foot pedal to assign a button to the transport play button, and it works. I'm sure it's something stupid, but it's alluding me at the moment. What am I missing?

Re: DP10 Clips / Triggering via MIDI
Perhaps this might help someone else. But apparently there is a bug if you have a V-Rack in your file and it's above the play enabled chunk with the clips. In this case MIDI triggering won't work right, but if you move the V-Rack to the bottom of the chunks list, it will work.

Re: DP10 Clips / Triggering via MIDI
Hi, I have the same problem (using 10.01) - the clips work fine if I click on trigger, nothing happens if I try to trigger by MIDI. I tried moving the my two VRacks to the bottom of the chunks list but that made no difference. Have I understood the work-around correctly ?wesdrums wrote: But apparently there is a bug if you have a V-Rack in your file and it's above the play enabled chunk with the clips. You understood correctly. I testing moving them to the bottom on 10.0 and it worked, I haven't tried on 10.1 though. I assume your MIDI masters on in the commands window?dgtheriault wrote:

Re: DP10 Clips / Triggering via MIDI
Yes, all MIDI Masters are on. (good thought though)
Using Learn MIDI mode, I can see that a scene trigger has learned a button press from my Korg nanoKontrol. Using DP MIDI Monitor, I can incoming MIDI for the device. Using the MacOS App MIDI Monitor, I can see the correct button press. So everything seems to be there ... just nothing happens.
I've just done some further digging - it seems other Attach MIDI controller commands don't work. So I've set up a Pan knob on the Mixing Board to learn a MIDI knob on the Korg. It learns ok, but again nothing happens to the channel Pan when I use the knob. (I hear the MacOS 'bleep' when I turn the knob).
I have also tried with Novation kb, same thing happens.
Is there some master MIDI controller enable switch?
thanks, David

Re: DP10 Clips / Triggering via MIDI
Any update to my last input:
- my problems with the Korg nanoKontrol were caused by incorrect setting of the mode. Booting the nanoKontrol to start in 'DP DAW' mode (press SET and FF while starting) fixed the issue of not being able set the Mixer to learn MIDI (together with the correct control surface setting). Booting that device in CC mode didn't work either for the Mixer or Clips triggering.
- I reverted to a new and empty dpdoc to run simple test with MIDI triggers. The problem persists: no Note event nor CC event will trigger either a Scene or and individual clip. The 'Learn' part seems to go ok ( learn mode activated and triggers set with the correct MIDI data) but doesn't actually do anything when triggered.
Without the ability to trigger a scene by MIDI easily and reliably, the Clips feature seem to be of little use. I will continue to investigate.
regards,
David

I have the same problem. Upgrading to DP10.1 didn't help.
Did you find a solution? I feel like there is something obvious I missed…

Re: DP10 Clips / Triggering via MIDI
Thanks for the command window tip, I found that "Master Master" was disabled, switching it on enabled MIDI control of clip triggering.

Many thanks!
Enabling "General Master" & "Master Master" did the trick!
@Saxplayerz : those settings are located in Setup->Commands.
