Inserting tempo in conductor track
Hi. I used to use DP, and then my Mac crashed a few years ago and I stopped using it. Now I have a new Mac and I'm using DP10. I'm having to relearn a lot, because some things are not as I remember them, and others I don't seem to remember.
Right now, I'm trying to insert a tempo change. The manual says to choose Tempo Change from the insert menu. But there is no insert menu for the conductor track in the MIDI editor. If I go to another instrument, I can choose Tempo Change there, and return to the tempo track. But when I click with the pencil tool, it gives me a click event, not a tempo change.
Can one of you nice folks help me with this?

Re: Inserting tempo in conductor track
Select your conductor track and press Shift-E. You can select tempo change from that window and insert it there near the + - signs.
Or you can draw it manually in the SE or GE with the Pencil tool.

Re: Inserting tempo in conductor track
FMiguelez is showing the method where you use the Conductor Track's Event List to add a tempo event.
Selecting the conductor track (click the track name "Conductor") in the tracks overview window, then pressing SHIFT-E brings up the event list. At the top of that window you can choose to add a tempo event wherever the current counter is located. Set the counter to the bar you want to enter the tempo event, or you can enter it directly to the event as you add it (or after).
You can copy and paste tempo events in the Tracks Overview which can be a time saver. Directly editing the tempo value is easiest in the event list. But working on lots of tempo events (like ramped changes-- accel. or rit.) are easiest in the graphic window. You can zoom to work at a scale that makes sense.

Thank you for your kind replies. I got it done in the Event List. I don't know why the user guide had all that about the pencil tool.

Re: Inserting tempo in conductor track
That's one of many other methods of entering tempo info. It's easier to draw curves manually with the Pencil tool. These can also be automatically calculated and drawn by DP with some of the other related tempo commands> VERY powerful stuff!Rick Averill wrote:Thank you for your kind replies. One can also option-drag a group of those selected little guys and drop them later in the timeline
