Right now Clips are pretty much an afterthought in DP10, you can only record audio from them to a bus etc. In Lite Clips are recordable to the Sequence Editor. The resulting MIDI regions can be edited like Notes are now, plus the region can be edited. I do not know if that includes slicing the MIDI region like audio, and Lite so far has no glue tool.

We will see how this plays out, reports from a guy in Gearslutz suggest that it's not finished per say. A MIDI track with recorded Clips on it just gets a piano roll with the clip regions still visible sitting on top of it. What I would like to see happen is a user selected MIDI. So if you select Notes you get regular MIDI and Clips as MIDI like we know it in the Sequence Editor, and if you select Clips, MIDI regions reappear.

It would be a shame if the Track window was dropped. There's nothing you can't do somewhere else, but it's a unique view of a project that I find very helpful, especially when there are a lot of tracks and complicated folder setups.

The Drum editor, not so much. If it's not going to be updated and fixed, best put it to rest. Logic's version is so much simpler, yet better.

If there is a simple alternative way to fine edit beats and a few other related aspects of a soundbite, the Waveform editor can go too. It was never that useful to me, especially in that it was not possible to monitor your edits in the context of the active sequence.

Fully functional MIDI regions, yes, please, before I die.

Yup, MOTU will have a monkey, a gorilla, a praying mantis, unicorns and all manner of beasties knocking fervently at its door should it foolishly choose to drop it. :brucelee:

Totally disagree. I've gotten a lot of use out of the DE and would be very disappointed if it were to be abandoned.

I agree. The drum editor is a cool and unique tool.

Don't take stuff away... add new great stuff.

I'm hoping for updates that keep DP competitive.

Beyond that... Happy Thanksgiving!
All is well
