The new MIDI driver caused my MIDI Timepiece AV to stop being recognized by my Mac. I had to revert back to the previous driver for now and submitted a Techlink with MOTU.

New drivers are up for legacy MIDI interfaces.
Nothing yet for older audio ones such as my 24I/Os.

I'm glad. I'm gonna try the new drivers right away. I'm tired of damned stuck notes...

Me too. I'm still on Majave. I installed the new MIDI driver in order to be ready for the upgrade.elcappn wrote:The new MIDI driver caused my MIDI Timepiece AV to stop being recognized by my Mac. I had to revert back to the previous driver for now and submitted a Techlink with MOTU.
My Midiexpress 128 and 828x MIDI ports stop to be recognized.
Go back to previous Drivers and it worked again properly.

Anyone sure if these work with the 828 mk2 yet?

Re: Catalina compatible drivers posted
I would think the MIDI drivers might. I don't know if I'll have time to test my MTP USB this weekend but if I do, it will be simple to test the MIDI on my 828mkII.fuzzylogic wrote:Anyone sure if these work with the 828 mk2 yet?

Re: Catalina compatible drivers posted
Thanks, much appreciated! Have they updated Cuemix? If not, how would you work around it? I'm keen to eke out another couple of years from my 828 as it's still working well and sounds great.mikehalloran wrote:I would think the MIDI drivers might. Re: Catalina compatible drivers posted
I have an 828 mk2.fuzzylogic wrote:Anyone sure if these work with the 828 mk2 yet?
When I upgraded to High Sierra, the first time the MOTU Audio Setup app opened I got that "this app is not optimized" message, meaning that it is 32 bit. I was able to use the 828 mk2.
This was with the latest MOTU firewire legacy driver for 828 mk2.
So this makes me think that MOTU has to update the MOTU Audio Setup app to be 64 bit (and maybe even also the .kext driver too).
If MOTU doesn’t, then my 828 mk2 can't be used when I upgrade to Catalina and beyond.
It was good to see the post above by someone saying that MOTU says they'll be updating the 828 mk2 software to work with Catalina (I hope I read his post correctly).
iMac 3.0 GHz, 8 GHz ram, OS 10.6.4, MOTU 828 Mk II, MOTU MIDI Express-XT (x2), KRK Rokit 6's, Novation Remote Zero SL, Radikal SAC-2k, Triton rack maxed out, Matrix 1000, Handsonic HPD-15 drum pads, tons 'o VI's.....

If I recall correctly, you can access at least some CueMix functionality from the 828's front panel...fuzzylogic wrote:Thanks, much appreciated! Have they updated Cuemix? Re: Catalina compatible drivers posted
Hello,
I did the Catalina update without paying attention to the possible problems of drivers. I use a MOTU ultralite MK3.
I read the recommendations (too late) and as I make a DJ set friday, I began to consider the downgrade... but I tested and in Ableton Live, the card is recognized and works !
(and this is not a recommendation to make the update, just for the dumb ones like me do some tests before making strong decisions
)
