I am thinking of getting a new 2018 Mac mini and will be wanting to connect my MOTU 624 to it by Thunderbolt and will need a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter. I was thinking of either Apple or Startech.
Anyone here successfully connecting a MOTU Thunderbolt audio device to a Mac with Thunderbolt 3? What adaptor have you used?
Thanks

Re: Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter for MOTU 624
Get the Apple adapter — if for no other reason than the fact that Apple keeps the firmware up to date.
Many products are incompatible with the Startech. I have no idea about MOTU devices in that regard.
Your TB2 cable will be fine. I plug my adapter into my iMac Pro and run the TB2 cable to a dock that I have containing my sample drives.
Bus power may or may not still work—it depends. External power will. The TB3 port puts out plenty of juice but the adapter doesn't pass that much TB3 to TB2 (it passes none the other way but not your issue).

Thanks for the quick reply Mike, much appreciated. I thought the Apple one should be my best bet.
