Meters useless while revording

Just noticed that if I am recording a vocal the console and track meters has a huge delay and also show's clipping when it does not actually clip. Anyone else have this issue?

I am not sure about this so take it with a grain of salt. I think DP gives priority to recording once you hit record. Everything else is secondary. If you have lots of tracks the GUI tends to slow down while recording. That's been my observation anyway. I've had good luck with the meter bridge while recording. Others here have mentioned that meter bridge is a CPU hog, but I haven't experienced that on my rig.

DP has consistently shown clipping (when that happens while setting up levels) for me, but I don't use Meter Bridge.

But why are we working anywhere near digital zero anyway? 24-bit recording gives us more headroom than straight wire. Always save a few bits for the suddenly exuberant performer.
