I'm new to this so bear with me. I have a MoTu 828 and Audio Desk(the older version) on my G3 iMac (192 meg RAM, 50 gb harddrive) Everything is great until I go to play back tracks.
Occasionally the track won't playback. The sounbite is there but the inputs, outputs, voices, etc. are greyed out. If I reboot and reopen the project it sometmes fixes it but often I have to change voices before it plays back. It doesn't seem to matter what voice just as long as I change it to something.
Help this analogue guy gone digital not smack his iMac on the side of the head in fustration.
Problem with greyed out input, output, etc. in Audio Desk

192 meg ram? Is that an accurate number? Isn't it usually in 128 meg increments, like 128, 256, 512, etc? In any case - It surely isn't very much - that may be your problem. Everyone I know - me included - as standard practice loads up their CPU with as much ram as it can take.
I've got 640 in my iBook running AudioDesk.

Let us know what you did to fix it. I'm also using Audiodesk and like hearing tips n' tricks, as a way of avoiding my own blunders.
I would still advocate getting more memory.
I've been using an iBook dual-usb 500 mHz Mac to run my Audiodesk, and after using ProTools I must say that OS 9 Audiodesk is very clumsy. I'm getting a new CPU so I can use Audiodesk2 and run it in OSX. I can barely do this with my iBook but the benefits are clear.
