DP10.01 and IK T RackS crashing

Post by csavetman »

Hello-

Is anyone successfully running DP 10.01 and the latest version of IK Multimedia T RackS (5.21)?

I updated T Racks from a previous version (5.1 I think ) in order to demo the new tape plugins.
After installing, an existing DP project with IK plugins already on the tracks, transport became unresponsive. Hitting play, caused spinning beach ball, leading me to force quit.

I tried creating a new blank project with only 1 track. Put an IK plugin on it, and same thing. Spinning beachball.

Other plugins working fine.
I've tried trashing AU prefs to rescan all the plugins. Didn't help.

I finally un installed T RackS and reinstalled a previous version (5.1). DP back to normal.

I left a tech note with IK Multimedia on their support page.

Anyone else seeing this?

thanks
Carlos

All I know is I bought the tape plugins and they completely crash DP9. (I have not upgraded to 10 yet.)

IK is kind of a shaky company, in my view.

Well, to answer my own question, and to help anyone else out there experiencing similar issues, the problem seems to be pre-gen.

When I open the window for any IK plugin, and set open instances to run in real time, the transport behaves fine.
When I uncheck that setting to enable pregen, or close the plugin window, I get the spinning beachball when engaging the transport.

Time to contact MOTU.

As a further update to anyone interested, running the IK T Racks plugins as Vst2 instead of Audiounits also seems to resolve the issue. DP transport is responsive, whether the plugin is running in real time, or pregen mode.

Original Issue seems to be localized to Audiounits.

It is working that way but if I try to bounce with T-racks in the session Dp freezes all the time... :?
