Happy Camper MP3
Downloaded 10.01 and MP3 came back. I apologize for a couple days ago. I was up against a time crunch, taking 26 songs per DAT catalog, editing them and then converting them to Mp3, with meta data, and I have been using DP8. and OUCH 10 went, NO you can't that today. I downloaded 10.01 and I have a happy face..
I would have a happier face if there was a command you could click that would cause the cursor to go back to the same point where you started. Yes I have made other commands that I have to do so it does, but PT, Logic, Studio One, Cuebase and other DAW do it. DP I have like since it first came out, but time in editing, overdubbing, it sure would make DP more useful.

If you set the start time to the current position by using F1, you can control-option-C to return that point. It will automatically return when you stop if auto rewind is on.mrbil wrote:I would have a happier face if there was a command you could click that would cause the cursor to go back to the same point where you started. Turn on Auto Rewind - left-most button on the Control Panel.mrbil wrote: a command you could click that would cause the cursor to go back to the same point where you started. ..DP I have like since it first came out, but time in editing, overdubbing, it sure would make DP more useful.
With the I-Beam tool (i), click the desired point in the timeline or in the Tracks/Sequencer editor.
Control-space bar to play from, and auto rewind to, that point.
Click another point with (i), etc.

I love a happy ending. Want to mark the other topic "Resolved" in the title?

Yes.on resolved.
Except I know those other commands you gave, F3 and then F1 and then the hi lite and the apple/space bar.I want it to go back with out me having to do all of that, like all of the other DAW Softwares I have to use, PT, Nuendo, Studio One,etc. So easy.
It could be so lovely to have a setting in the short cut section that you hilite and the cursor would act like normal DAW. I have had to move a mouse to the start locations since the first DP. So all you youngin's that do not remember the DP, gosh it has changed. I used DP to store all the MIDI info to lock up on the first 4-5 Bela Fleck and the Flecktones albums. Probably before many of you were born or were toddlers.
Yea I am an older fart, and want the simple life of recording an overdub, or reviewing a section of audio to edit and the cursor goes back to where it was. I make a marker now and made a short cut ( go to previous marker ) but I still have to hit that key and it takes to much time. And then I have to move or remove that marker. Pain in the butt, when other DAWS are so smart.
When you make a lot of albums Time is $$$$$$.
Please help my fingers get a little rest from now and then.

I'm an even older fart, and want the simple life of recording where I had to hit the rewind button and "feel" for when to hit stop.
(I actually was very good at getting the exact spot, having been using reel-to-reel tape recorders since age nine! I could stop every time at the beginning of any song on a tape in later years using FF or Rewind.)
Good luck getting DP to change!
