My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Hi!
Got my MOTU 828 mk2 usb audio interface run on my PC. Win 10 Pro x64 1903. Try all drivers versions for MOTU but
from time to time the sound completely disappears. Before this happens, there is a strange high-frequency squeak or short sound. Sometimes she switches to 48 kHz.
Another strange thing that i have COMPLETELY NO SOUND if i set my latency to 128
The hardware of the device is normal, diagnostics were performed, there are no problems. The device is powered via a UPS with a voltage regulator. I connected different cables to different ports of USB.
In the "Energy Saving Schemes" power off USB is prohibited.
Try different settings combinations in MOTU audio console software.
Try to reset defaults on device.
Nothing helps. Help to deal with this problem.
Specs:
AMD FX8320
ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R 1.0 MB
NVIDIA GEFORCE 560 SE
8 GB Ram
Samsung SSD
WD RE 1 TB HDD
PC Seasonic 1000W 80 plus
USB Logitech Mouse and Hator Gaming Mechanical keyboard
Today i test MOTU on diffirent computer so i'm sure that not my PC hardware issue!
Please help

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Sometimes the only answer is to go to the device manager and disable "MOTU Audio Wave for 64-bit". That is the Windows Audio interface. I have one machine that is totally required, and I use Voicemeeter Banana to translate the Windows audio to the MOTU ASIO instead for that machine. (Voicemeeter Banana offers several other benefits as well.)
Sometimes, some audio seems to spontaneously change sample rate, and that forces an internal sample rate change inside the "box", causing issues and scrambling its brain. YouTube videos are all over the place as regards sample rates, for instance, and I imagine so are the auto-loading video ads present on tons of websites via AdSense.
However, if you do not suspect your browser is introducing these issues, and you want to keep "MOTU Audio Wave for 64-bit" enabled, make sure that all the MOTU items in both the Playback and Recording "Sound Control Panel" audio dialogs are set to the same sample rate and bit depth (like 44100/16-bit) from the "Advanced" tab. Having one of those being set different seems to confuse that box.
Lastly, make sure your cables are clean. I use DeOxit.
If none of these things help, try moving the USB plug to a different port - some other device may be interfering with it if it shares the same hub.

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
thx 4 input bro.
I use many cables (new and reliable one's that i use before on other cards etc)
thick and thin cables - no difference and off course i try to use all of my USB slots. Nothing helps.
Try to disable that MOTU Audio Wave for 64-bit but its some kind like a crutch not solution. Why it's don't work "from the box"? As i say try on few computers and laptops so that is not PC hardware compatibility problem i think. Diffirent OS even try it on Linux.

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
And another very strange thing...
I have completely NO SOUND when i set my latency to 128 in MOTU audio console.
Why?
Try voicemeter - again no sound with 128 latency.

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Nah man! i disable MOTU Audio Wave for 64-bit and run the Voice meter.
Thing goes even worse! Dropouts became even more + ad some digital squeals on max loudness (-20 db) that i set on audiointerface. So it's not a solution at all.

What software/application are you using and what driver type (i.e. ASIO, WASAPI) does that app use? Are you also using the 828 for Windows system audio?

Using R-e-a-p-e-r 5 with Motu ASIO driver
Try to off Motu MIDI in device manager too - nothing change
https://ibb.co/pyzdXp2
From start just install MOTU 828 mk2 usb driver (latest MOTU Audio Installer 4.0.6.6814) on clean Win 10 1903 x64.
Same with 1607 Win 10, Win 7, Xp and Linux.
Try ALL MOTU 828 mk2 usb drivers from motu website...including legacy one's

Have you tried disabling all of the MOTU I/O in the Windows Sound Control Panel?

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Use key combo Win+R, type 'mmsys.cpl' without quotes and press enter to open the Sound Control Panel. For each of the 828 entries under Playback and Recording tabs right-click and select Disable.

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Yes, all disable! I delete even voicemeter now so i have no audio on my Windows, run my DAW at 192 latency, try to work...few minutes ugly digital squeal and sound is drops. So it's not a Win, not a Google Chrome etc. I think just MOTU is a cr-ap

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Did you restart after disabling? What sample rate? After restart try setting buffer to 256 just to see if still glitching.

Re: My MOTU 828 mk2 USB drives me crazy
Yeap bro - i'm not a noob it's all the language barrier.
Off course i restart. I have glithches on every buffer size from 192-1024.
44.1
And still no sound on 128! What the heck? Motu? Its normal behaviour for professional audio inferface? I even can't work on max latency because of dropouts, low latency for studio recording on MOTU? pfff...nah...don even hear that!

It's not normal behavior. MOTU interfaces are pretty rock solid or else this board and others would be nothing but complaints. Try contacting MOTU tech support - they probably have a couple of other things to look at.

MOTU tech support will answer centuries. If ever he answers.
I'm start thinking it may be a hardware unit issue? Capacitors or something? Any thoughts?
