Bounce issue

Post by dazzjazz »

Hi all,

I'm having a weird audio glitch in bounced files that doesn't exist in the source multitrack.
I thought it was a poor fade that I subsequently repaired, but I've exported an MP3 again and the issue is still there - sounds like a record skipping a tiny bit.

Any thoughts on how to rectify this please?

BTD and converting to mp3 in one pass takes a fair amount of resources and time. For that reason, I never do it. I find it much faster to make it a 2-step process—much, much faster.

Try a bounce to whatever format and rate your files are. Now convert that to mp3 in iTunes.

Do you hear the same glitch?

If yes, it’s not the mp3 conversion. If no, the glitch is gone, there are many possible causes.

I'm thinking the same thing. Too many variables to be able to answer.

How many VIs? Tracks? Any "big" VIs sharing the same fader? That'll screw things up a bit, as will heavily scripted VI instruments.

Solutions abound but not w/o more info on the content.

VI's still don't properly convert correctly if complicated multiple VI's exist regardless of audio format.
I'm mainly working with NI Complete 11.

Are you using MIDI to control parameters in either Reaktor or Guitar Rig? I've seen some weird stuff where that causes bumps in automation on bounce that don't exist in realtime playback. I used to freeze the tracks using those specific plugs to be safe.

No

Freezing always allows it to work yes.
I prefer the sound tone when allowing the VI to work live through bounce.
