I was having disk drive trouble, and replaced my internal iMac hard drive with a new SSD drive. After closing up the computer again, I installed a fresh system from Apple, and migrated all of my apps and documents from a Time Machine backup. All cabling remained unchanged.
Now DP 10.01, the MOTU "Discover" app, and the "Sound" control panel cannot see my MOTU 8M interface.
When I choose "About this Mac..." and choose "System Report," the 8M shows up as one of the items on the Thunderbolt list, so I assume the cable connections are good.
I downloaded and installed fresh MOTU drivers, but no change. Any more ideas? Thanks.

Solved it. It was that new OS X Mojave thing that MOTU warns us about: the System automatically blocked MOTU software from loading at start up. I was able to allow it to load through the System Preferences.
