Command-B became Command-X?

Post by gavspen »

Am I going nuts?

After some shenanigans involving DP 8 & 9 on the same disk, and things not working right, and some reinstalling to get back to where I used to be, and maybe trashing a few files/preferences along the way....you get the idea....I was recording and went to throw away a soundbite from the tracks window, using a keyboard command I've used so many times, for so many years, it's a part of my DNA, "Command-B". But it didnt work. What?

Looking in the File menu, I see that "Cut" is now "Command-X". Ok, that's in line with a lot of other apps (well, pretty much all of them I guess), but I could swear it used to be "Command-B".

Am I losing it?

(I tell you about the shenanigans only in case something I may have trashed might be the cause)

I think you might be :)

Once upon a time Command-B worked as Delete without putting anything on the Clipboard as Command-X has (as I recall) always done, but that's been gone for a while, like since OS9 maybe?

Command-B is Bold in Quickscribe. It's "bold" in just about any app that processes text.

Maybe you customized this a very long time ago.

Ok, so I'm not losing it. It was that way. Command-B was "delete", with nothing on the clipboard. Whoopee!

But the weird part is, for me it should still be that way, since I'm still using DP8. This switch just happened, during all the DP8/9 weirdness. (I cant use DP for reasons I wont bore you with.

(And I know that keyboard commands are customizable, but hell, I dont know how to do it. :? )
