Always worth checking https://www.audiodeluxe.com. If they carry the product you seek, you will save money. You must register, log in and add the product to your cart to see the discount.
Buying Back Hole there, I saved $ off the Eventide sale price.
Bays... though it is marketed as a reverb, Black Hole's interface pushes one in substantially different directions than a typical 'verb.

Thanks. Glad to hear it. I have a scene with a monk walking through woods past waterfalls and birds, towards a far off temple bell, with occasional chanting. Lots to experiment with there.HCMarkus wrote:Bays... though it is marketed as a reverb, Black Hole's interface pushes one in substantially different directions than a typical 'verb.

If you want to explore the deepest depths of what Blackhole can do, I can recommend the Extraordinary Spaces 1, 2, and 3 patch collections at Synth-Presets.com
Sure, you can role your own, but these are fun to go through and provide nice starting points from perspectives you might not have considered trying. They seem to be often on sale, as they are now.
Extraordinary Spaces 1 https://www.synth-presets.com/Presets/R ... _Blackhole
Extraordinary Spaces 2 https://www.synth-presets.com/Presets/E ... ole-Reverb
Extraordinary Spaces 3 https://www.synth-presets.com/Presets/E ... le-Reverb2
The video below gives some nice demos of cool things Blackhole can do. There is more audio (Soundcloud playlists) at their site.
I often connect a pedal or slider to the central strip -- a pedal is especially useful when testing through gobs of presets like these.
Terry
P.S. - Robin Vincent adds some nice demos of the NKS (NI Komplete Kontrol) implementation of Blackhole in the video below (the synth-presets.com prests aren't in the NKS list, but the knobs work!):
P.P.S. - If you happen to have a Valhalla Shimmer lying around, Simon Stockhausen shows some beautiful demos of Blackhole passing through Shimmer in the video below:

I see that CC1 is the default controller, but I can't figure out how to route a controller to it in DP.terrybritton wrote: I often connect a pedal or slider to the central strip -- a pedal is especially useful when testing through gobs of presets like these.

I figured it out. For those wondering, Blackhole on the effect insert publishes a MIDI device that can be controlled on a MIDI track.cuttime wrote:I see that CC1 is the default controller, but I can't figure out how to route a controller to it in DP.terrybritton wrote: I often connect a pedal or slider to the central strip -- a pedal is especially useful when testing through gobs of presets like these.

Thanks, cuttime.
From this video, I also see that DP would capture the automation from whatever control was moved if you were recording automation. (The video's additional suggestion of automating the send level is interesting.)

AllWaves Plugins $29, ends today. Yeah, Waves seems to always have something for $29, but if you were coveting one that hasn't been on sale, it's a good time to pick it up.

Beware. Last time I wanted to simply try a Waves plugin I ended up inadvertently upgrading the Waveshell so all of my older Waves plugins required paid upgrades to work. I had to TimeMachine back to get them working again....I'm not sure Waves still works like this, but it was pretty irritating.HCMarkus wrote:AllWaves Plugins $29, ends today. I had that happen once, too. Waves gave me a fix that was relatively painless, but only in retrospect.dix wrote:Beware. That said, they do have a lot of really useful plugins...

FWIW, every time I’ve installed a Waves product it has really messed up my entire system. I seem to recall Shooshie having Waves “issues” as well. Nothing Waves will ever install on my machines again.

Indeed they do, but this experience reminded me that so do many, many other companies. I’m down to just one Waves plug-in that I’ll let go rather than pay to update.HCMarkus wrote:That said, they do have a lot of really useful plugins...

I don't think they figured out how to have V9 and V10 running at the same time, or any combination of old and new. But once I told them what had happened, they figured out what I had to do and gave detailed instructions that worked. Basically, you delete everything, install the newer stuff with the most recent installers, then install the older stuff with earlier versions of the installers. You end up with multiple versions of the shells. I guess they'd rather we all WUPed.HCMarkus wrote: I had that happen once, too. Does anyone know about these models? (the 244 and 245). Do they add anything? The only description I could find said it's "thick".
