Plugin Yellow Minimize Button Greyed out

Post by newageguitar »

I have a slew of GUI issues since upgrading to High Sierra but one particularly in DP10. Besides the fact that highlighting tracks for punch's etc. is spotty and slow all of a sudden, all of my plugin VI windows Stylus, Omnisphere, Superior Drummer etc. have Greyed Out minimize buttons. Seriously annoying and disruptive, red collapse button works fine but then I have to reopen from the tracks window.

Anybody run into this and have a fix?

As always I appreciate your help.

I appreciate your help.

Floating turned on? Check the Plug-In Preferences and also the setting in the mini-menu of the plug.

Dave,

Thank you for your reply,

Sorry for my ignorance but can you tell me what you me by "Floating", possibly a pane setting I'm not familiar with?. I will check all the preferences and see if there's a parameter that's been reset since my update. High Sierra has been a real bugger.

Much appreciated my friend.

Floating means a plug-in window always stays out in front, regardless of clicking on another window. If floating is turned off and the plug is say, in front of the Tracks window, clicking on the Tracks window will bring the Tracks window to the front and the plug will be hidden behind.

Floating can be turned on or off for all plug-ins by default, and it can be enabled or disabled on a plug by plug basis.

If floating is enabled for a plug, the minimize button is not available.

Go to the Digital Performer menu>Preferences>Audio Plug-Ins. You'll see the global setting to float all plugs. Make sure that's not checked.

In individual plug-ins, go to the mini-menu in the upper right corner you'll see settings to enable global floating and you'll also see a separate setting to float just this plug.

Thank you Dave and that's now sorted,

Still don't have my yellow "minimize" buttons working and also the float does not work on my individual panes for meters and mixing board I have on a separate monitor. The plug instances are also on that monitor and populating the screen, can't minimize them and also can't click on the board or meter bridge to bring them to the front as I used to be able to do.

Now I have to actually close the instances to see my work space on monitor two. I have no idea what's happened, I've been on DP for over 15 years and never experienced this before.

Dave,

I see what's happened and have resolved all the float issues, I admit a preference I've never used until now.

Only issue I have left is the greyed out minimize buttons. If I can solve that I'll be good to go.

Once you've set the preference close the plug-in window and then re-open. Got the minimize button now?
