Add similar tracks (and multiple similar tracks) has been around for a while. Wha's different from what your asking for here?

Isn't that what Add Similar Tracks does?

I want it to duplicate the plugin chain.

Let's say I have a vocal track in a mix, and I have 4 or 5 plugins I've set up and tweaked. I now need to split the track into 3 separate tracks for the verse, chorus and bridge, but I want to keep the exact same sound as a starting point. I want to drag the soundbites from the original track into the new, empty tracks where they belong. I have two options: Duplicate (x2) the track and then manually go and remove all the audio from the duplicates, or, add (multiple) similar tracks, and then go into the mixer and manually option click/drag all the plugins to copy them to the duplicated tracks.

There is a better way to do that...

At the top of the inserts there's a dropdown that allows you to save the insert settings. All you need to do is save them and then load them into your new track.

That way, not only will they be available in your new tracks, but also in your new projects!

I know about all that, I use the insert settings all the time. But saving it then looking it back up from the flip-downs on each channel takes longer than the other two methods I mentioned.

I know there are multiple ways/workarounds to do this, that all involve more or less steps. I want to do it with one right-click, simply out of convenience.. but, not even close to a problem for me if I don't get it.

You could select all the inserts and option drag to the new location, but you know that.

You could also setup your inserts into a blank track and duplicate that track and the inserts will copy.

Actually I didn't, until I read this.. I just shift-clicked all the inserts in a channel for the first time, to select them all. Then option dragged them to another channel in one step. I had been copying them one at a time, all this time.. funny how you get used to doing things a certain way, and don't even think about something as simple as shift selection.. Thanks for the reminder!
