Having trouble with Background Processing

Okay, I'm getting ready to migrate to a new machine, a 2010 MP so I can eventually get to Mohave and DP10. This one will have more horsepower and SSDs for the OS and work drive. In the meantime, I am readying my current MP by moving all my projects off of the older drives to a external drive.

Well before I delete the projects off of the internal drives, I'm opening them on the external just to be sure all the files transferred over in full.

The problem is the computer is getting hung up on this Background Processing of Analyzing soundbytes. it's getting to be a real problem. I tried turning off the Background Processing in one of the projects and that worked great but its not carrying over to the next project, i.e., not saving the preference. Any ideas?

Unless already done, you will need a Metal Graphics compatible GPU to run Mojave on a 2010. These weren’t introduced till 2012 but can be added. There are some threads on what does and doesn’t work.
