The track to track drag is the only one I see and only in the SE. Everything else is fine.

Um, you acknowledged the Split Notes crash and Drag-copy-only earlier in this thread, bays. Have you revolved these?

You would indeed be the unicorn if that's the case. MOTU has acknowledged each of these, I believe, and stated they would be fixed in the next update....MLC, can you really shift-constrain MIDI events when dragging them track-to-track in the SE in DP10?
I can. FWIW, I'm NOT using a mouse but a Magic Trackpad 2, if that makes a difference.

Weird. My MT2 will not.

I can make a screen video if you want to see it in action, but given that others are seeing it and I'm not has me concerned... lol

I thought we were just talking about shift or alt drag copying MIDI notes. Other stuff, yes, it’s broken.

this one could be a deal-breaker for me...

I've recorded a few bars of MIDI data in a single track of an Instrument track in the Tracks (Overview) window.
records fine, plays back fine.
One more thought... is the GRID checked? Have you tried holding the CMD key to defeat what migth be grid snapping?

Though the CMD key has no effect on track-to-track Shift-constraining in DP9, yes. I've tried all variations of grid/modifiers in DP10. Within the track the MIDI can't be moved left or right when the Shift key is pressed (and the first drag is up or down), but once the MIDI is dragged up or down to the target track DP behaves as if it doesn't know the Shift key is pressed.

Are you running some sort of computer keyboard extension software...m'be?

Ah! One of those guys must be giving DP10 something it needs. ...or possibly superseding it. Do things constrain when shift-dragging outside of DP by chance?

I just checked in Photoshop (CS5) and shift dragging does constrain data movement.

Nope. I have things listed by "name" but I don't recall the desktop ever constraining with the shift key.

Shift-Constrain is part of Photoshop too. I was thinking one of those apps might be providing you this globally.

Okay, I think I've :deadhorse: enough. Thanks for playing along MLC. I'm really ready for the DP10 update.
