DP 10 - crashes when opening large project

Post by bsitler »

I am having issues with opening LARGE projects (45 minutes in length) ... no troubles in 9.52... but now 10 starts up fine, then a window opens up suggesting it's "converting" something and then crashes the whole thing 2 seconds later. Is there a way to undo dp 10 and go back to 9.52 so I can actually finish these projects that are due very soon? Or does anyone else have an idea of what this glitch is? Everything worked perfectly before. Also, I've booted DP in safe mode and it still crashes.

I'm using a late 2013 mac pro
1 tb ssd, sierra, 128 gig of ram

Normally, I have no issues whatsoever. Please, any ideas would be helpful. I need to get back to work!

I’m doing an 81 minute all MIDI project started in DP 9 and it’s working fine. I tried to do a real time recording yesterday and it crashed DP10 when I tried to open the recording in the sequence editor. I doubt the length in and of itself is the issue, but it doesn’t exactly instill confidence.

I can't open a 45 minute, all audio production. From other posts, I'm wondering if it's having trouble with automation that I have throughout. Though it seems to crash right after it says "converting"... I don't know what it would be needing to convert. I went back and installed 9.52 again and opened it up there with no problem. BUT dp10 is useless to me now, till they figure this out.

I have been able to open long “all audio” projects in 10 but haven’t yet done any editing.

I can open normal songs, 5 minutes or less... 30-40 tracks. No problems there yet... but my big projects are toast. Gotta use 9.52. Sucks. I was SOOOOOO much looking forward to finishing out these projects using version 10. Oh well.

I didn't send it ... I just reinstalled 9.52. I have both 10 and 9.52 working now so it's not an issue until they get it worked out. You always have to know that things like this are going to happen at the beginning of a new launch. I'm just thankful I can still get to the old files in 9.52 for now.
