DP 9.52 VEP6 Crashes
I have have just been trying to get DP and Vienna Ensemble Pro setup. I'm using them on the same machine, a 2010 5,1 Mac Pro 6 core, 24M RAM. OS 10.13.3
I launch VEP then launch DP, create an instrument track with VEP and immediately get this error message:
Digital Performer has encountered an error.
Mas, 1 error reported by Mas Audio Support
Failure: Base::New 160-50 [-50]
And DP crashes. Every time.
Before I go reinstalling everything, has anyone else experienced this? found a cure?
I found a thread from a year ago that seemed to have the same symptoms, but there didn't seem to be a resolution. I assume people are running DP and VEP problem free. How's it done?

Are you using the MAS, AU, or VST version?

I have the AU version loaded. I will try VST, see what happens...

Re: DP 9.52 VEP6 Crashes
Hi
I’m using the MAS version and that works great. That is also the preferred way cause then you’ll be able to use more MIDI channels. Just uncheck the Au and Vst version in your audioplugin preferences otherwise some confusion happens.
Good luck

Thanks for that, I’ll give MAS a try. I’ve only had a few short periods of time lately to troubleshoot this. I haven’t found much detailed info about running VEP with DP so any suggestions are much appreciated.

I have DP 9.5.2 running 8 slave computers with over 100 instances of VEPro MAS. Runs like a champ! Zero issues.

Re: DP 9.52 VEP6 Crashes
I've got VE Pro, but have yet to try it using my second Mac Pro. Noting you are running 9.52 successfully but mindful of VE Pro's recommendation to disable DP's pre-rendering globally (not possible under 9.52), I am encouraged by your report. It sounds like you are not experiencing timing issues despite pre-rendering being enabled.rikp wrote:I have DP 9.5.2 running 8 slave computers with over 100 instances of VEPro MAS. Runs like a champ! If you care to illuminate further, it would be appreciated!
Re: DP 9.52 VEP6 Crashes
That’s great to hear you’ve got VEP running flawlessly. I’m guessing my machine may need a spring cleaning. I haven’t done one in some time.rikp wrote:I have DP 9.5.2 running 8 slave computers with over 100 instances of VEPro MAS. Runs like a champ! Zero issues.
