I just opened it fine in Falcon, unlike the Avid Falcon bank ;-) Works fine in the UVI 3 player. Seems like it might be the old Mach 5 library? I had it at one time.. But honestly, I have a Dobro library that's bigger than this entire thing.

I wondered if that was the case but page 133 of the DP Plugins Guide says it will load into MachFIVE or Falcon so I don’t know what’s going on.

Jim, are we - as paid-up users - allowed to download and use the 30-day demo? I thought the demo was only for "new" folks? After reading comments, I'm feeling very much that I'd like to "demo" DP 10 before dropping $200....

I guess we'll know in a day or two. I hope MOTU and UVI are playing nice and there's no licensing issue.

That's what I did earlier today. Works fine. You just have to click to continue the trial each time you start it up, or pony up the 200.

Everything seems copacetic here... no rude surprises. A teeny bit disappointed there were no wacky new themes, but I'm super-happy about a scalable interface... I'd have paid the upgrade fee for that alone. The minuscule print in the notes window was giving me squint wrinkles. Excited to try the VCA faders and to be surprised by the new tweaks I haven't noticed yet.

Yup. Just log in, download the DP10 installer, and when you run it, choose "demo".

I did just that, and I'm kinda glad I did. There are a whole bunch of VST2 plugins I have that passed in DP9 which for reasons unknown, failed scanning in DP10, and an even greater number of VST3 plugins that have failed (mostly stuff from IK Multimedia and iZotope). OTOH, reading presets embedded in the VST DLLs works now, so that's something.

Hello,
In my case I ponied up the $195. My bank shows they took the $, My registrations shows DP10 but I received no Key code / email confirmation. the key code under the DP10 registration is for DP9. SOooooooo, I'm running in demo mode for now. UVI soundbank showed up below my registration and one click later the license was in my iLok account. That's as far as I got it's dang near 11:00 PM and I'm going home...

I tried logging in but it rejects my credentials, yet they haven't changed.

I don't remember when I last needed to log in. It might have been before my sudden externally-imposed email change last October, so I'm not sure if I have updated my account details yet. But now I can't.

Obviously, I can't say "lost password" (if for instance they reset old ones that weren't considered secure anymore), as it likely will go into the ether (the old domain can forward anything sent to it).

It looked like other people were having website problems, which is why I bring this up, as my life has been a non-stop nightmare since the email switch, and I don't want to unnecessarily waste a big block of time with yet another vendor that deleted my account during some audit of bounced emails.

Clearly, they were/are having issues with the site. Hopefully thousands of requests for the new version or demo. It rejected, then accepted my credentials, then bumped me, then let me in and allowed me to add DP 10 to my cart, then bumped me. I called. The lovely woman put me on hold for "a second" who lasted about 2 minutes, but (believe it or not) I'm a very patient man. Then she came back, out me on hold and a nice man took my order over the phone. I have my serial # in a matter of minutes and DP 10 is buzzing along. Maybe call in the morning?

I would be really surprised if page 133 wasn't a typo. M53 has been a dead man walking for years now. There was some little gossip hints that MOTU might be cooking up something, but I believe in the future for tweaking newer UVI libraries it's going to be Falcon, and minor things in the UVI player. Most UVI libraries that came out in the last couple years do not open in M53 etc.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, I'm really enjoying the new features in DP10, but.... did they seriously release the Clips window without the ability to record those clips into the timeline? That's pretty bizarre?

Even more bizarre they're not alone if they did this, AKAI just released a hardware Ableton Push clone without a song mode! AKAI have announced that the song window is coming soon in an update though.

I might just call on this though, I'm still not able to process that MOTU released this without it being able to print to the timeline??

Yes seems strange. No where in the new manual clips chapter does it mention recording your performances.

So far, so good as far as stability. Saving seems to be a lot faster. The wiper seems to be a bit thicker and easier to see - finally!

I did find a couple of annoying bugs almost immediately however:

1. If you change the name of a MIDI track, the new name does not change in
its MIDI Event List window. You can get around this by clicking on the down arrow next to the name on the upper right side of the event list window which opens up the list of existing MIDI tracks. Then go to another MIDI track name and select it, and then go back to the original MIDI track that didn't reflect the name change. Now it should reflect the change.

2. In the Region Transpose window, the tab keys don't seem to work predictably. And there's a written prompt saying: "Play a two note interval to automatically populate the above fields" - presumably meaning the Transpose from ___ to ___ boxes. That didn't seem to work either.

More Themes would have been nice. Quite surprising not to see them.

I'm sure we'll all discover more anomalies and more cool features. I'm looking forward to exploring!
