Has anyone seen a demo of DP 10 working reliably on a PC? :unicorn:

A few bugs left in the Windows version is probably why it wasn't announced at NAMM as available.. just a guess, because windows. :smash:

Yeah, that would be my guess.I don't think MOTU would release just a Mac version, so maybe we're all waiting for the darn PC world to ketchup.

Considering they delayed the release of 8 because the brand spanking new Windows version out of the door, it's a pretty safe conclusion Watson! Image

This is how much of a nerd I am about this stuff.
Shipping dates:
DP5 04-17-06 Monday
DP6 01-17-08 Thursday (announced and released at NAMM apparently?)
DP7 9-14-09 Monday
DP8 10-1-2012 Monday
DP9 6-23-2015 Tuesday

So guesses on days that aren't Monday are unlikely, and if not Monday then Tuesday is the most likely past NAMM. Considering that next Monday is Presidents day, I'm thinking Tuesday becomes even more likely.
Going with the "In the next couple weeks" response every employee at NAMM gave I'm gonna say that was optimistic but going off of a better late than never but still on time concept, I'm going with Monday Feb. 25th

2-25-2019

This gives them the full five days of frantic support emails etc. to deal with. :smash:

Google... Linkedin sez about the same. You have to take into account hardware, software for their hardware etc. I would bet about 10 people or less work directly coding DP. Probably half that number.
Owler and LinkedIn.... MOTU has an estimated 46 employees ...
Compare that to 208 estimate for Steinberg, Ableton currently employs around 300 people, 574 at NI, Propellerhead Estimated Employees 175, Pro Tools and logic are a bit harder to get decent estimates for, but yeah MOTU are smaller.

I don't agree at all about the new version though, there's a ton of new features in 10, not really anything to debate there. You can always say they missed your wanted upgrades, (MPE and bounce options here), but to say they didn't pack a ton of new features in there is silly.
Why would MOTU be a small company after so many years? 46 employees after being in business for decades? I don’t get it. I wouldn’t trust such estimates anyway.
Company size only means os much anyway. My day job at the print shop is very low staffed for both overall sales and overall profit margin compared to others in our industry. We're at about just under half the normal staff count for the volume of our shop. Payroll is about normal since we all get paid well since we're damn good at what we do though. Still, you can be half the staff of your competitor and still DO more cause you're better at it.

CAUTION !!! It overwrites DP 9 without warning. Launches with no AU validation: just loads the plugins. :rtfmmad: :rtfmmad: :rtfmmad:

I read somewhere something about renaming the old folder before install. My upgrades always got on the backup rig first anyway.
