Import Session Data a must
Saves hours of time mixing to be able to use this one feature in PT. Even though I like DP so much better, time is time.
So will there be import session data in DP10?
Even Studio One 4 now has Import Song Data.
Please guys, DP is so far advanced in so many ways, except import session data. I do like the feature that I can save Channel data easily, but when you have to crank out product, day after day, and have to import audio to a template, and then just the top layer, I need to go back and grab something, in a past audio session, and templates ain't happening for that. Time is Time.
It can't be that hard to write that code, if Digi did it.
Been using DP since their beginning and then on all 4 of the WB Bela Fleck and the Flecktone albums, and Bela's other solo works, to name just one artist.
Back then I needed to record and lock MIDI data,to 32 track dig and 24 track analog machines, all locked together and DP was the only one way back in the late 80's early 90'2 that could. Still the only one to be accurate, days and week after week, month , year.
Come on guys,
Bil

I use the Load command for this. How does Load fall flat for you? I’m not a Pro Tools user btw.

Load is great but does not allow for single track extractions, just the full Chunk.frankf wrote:I use the Load command for this. How does Load fall flat for you? I’m not a Pro Tools user btw.

Agreed, ccrane.
A little MOTU love for the Load command wouldn't hurt at all.
Having the chance to Load a project into the currently-used chunk (as opposed to a new one) would be nice.
Also, having more options, like being able to select which tracks (and takes) to import would be sweet.
Last time I tried it, the Load command has problems importing bundles and making them active in the new project. It ONLY works under a very narrow (and impractical) set of conditions...
From what I've seen in mixing tutorials, PT's version of the Load command is quite impressive.

Re: Import Session Data a must
PT style Session Data Import would be nice. I work around this with Clippings or by creating a Chunk that has just the tracks I want to import and Load it into the target project and then drag newly Loaded Chunk into the target sequence. Yes, many more steps and much more work than PT, but gets you there....eventually.

Re: Import Session Data a must
Either... import the CHUNK and delete the unused items...
Or... Open the source, copy the info, open the target project, paste to the track in question.
Not elegant, but functional.

Yes, the Load feature unfortunately is broken in that regard. One suggested work around was to copy the original Chunk to the Finder (you need to do that from the source DP project), then drag that Chunk file into a new project, no bundles will be imported.FMiguelez wrote:Agreed, ccrane.

Love me some Clippings! Between the many uses for Clippings, and the multiple Chunks that DP allows, many things can be accomplished.dix wrote:PT style Session Data Import would be nice.
