Replacement Screws for MIDI Timepiece MTP AV USB?

Post by resortrecords »

Does anyone know what kind of screws hold the lid on a MOTU MIDI TimePiece AV USB? Ace Hardware and Home Depot couldn't help me.

I purchased an MTP AV USB on eBay (my 4th - I have a vintage synth "habit") and while it's in gorgeous shape, I could barely change the battery, thanks to a prior owner driving the crap out of the lid's screws. Most were either jammed or stripped and couldn't be extracted without special tools. I managed to get 'em all out but now they need to be replaced - they're useless.

There are two types of screws. The two larger screws that attach the lid at the sides are okay. I need to replace the four smaller screws that attach the lid at the front and rear of the unit. Here's what I know so far:
  • Length (including head) is 1/4" but longer is okay - there's room
  • Thread is Standard (not metric) "36" (determined by a NAPA auto parts shop)
  • Shaft width appears to be 3/32"
  • Head width appears to be 7/32"
  • Head is flat head Philips type
  • Color is black
I've looked online but can't seem to find anything that matches all of these variables.

Any ideas?

I'd check electronic stores or mail order sites and, of course, you can always ask MOTU. :unicorn:
