Right clicking on the movie will present such an option.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Yes

Be very careful when using toggle "use same Movie for all sequences (sic)". Simply put, you can lose previously set movie links and start times by doing this. This is a known but unfixed bug which I first noticed when doing a demo at the NAMM Motu booth when DP9 was launched. I suggest writing down settings for each movie used in a project file so if the movie data gets wiped you can manually restore it. One example where you’d want to uncheck the above option is if you are working with several cues from a reel in a project and only one revised cue comes in. All other cues’ movie data in the reel will need to be manually reset. Again MOTU is aware of this but it has been at the bottom of one of their todo stacks for a couple of years. But let me tell you it’s a reel pain if you’re spotting or working with multiple movies in DP and you’re on DP9 and also DP8 I believe.

Re: Chunks use different movie video file?
Bug? Why would one expect to retain that data and how would one retrieve it?
From my perspective working do picture, each reel has its own project. Same movie for all projects.
If you use different movies for all chunks and want to then change (temporarily or otherwise) to using the same movie, copy the project and work from there. But if you suddenly change to using the same movie in the original project, there’s no expectation that DP will retain the various movie data.
It’s not a bug. It’s called user error.

Easy Mike. Not user error. MOTU has acknowledged the issue. I think you misunderstand. Ive worked and taught this workflow for many years with DP and the movie data has not been corrupted in the way I described in earlier versions. Best to you.

Did I misunderstand the issue?

If I am understanding you, DP should theoretically allow one to set different movies in each chunk, change to using the same movie, then toggle that back and retain the original movie use?frankf wrote:Easy Mike. I can’t imagine it would do so. I see the value, but don’t think programmers would have intended it to work that way. If they did and it doesn’t work, yeah, it’s a bug. If it worked that way prior to DP 9 and doesn’t now, yes, a bug and MOTU must face...
