Bounce to Disk issue - No sound

Post by Regale »

Hey All -

I’m having an issue with DP 8. When I bounce my mix to disk I get no sound on my outputted mix regardless of the format type I select. After bounce to disk is finished if I try to play the project in DP there is no sound as well. I have to go to configure hardware driver and click on Built in Output even though it’s already selected and then I can hear audio in the session again. This is happening on all projects and have never had this problem in the past. Any ideas?

Tech Specs –
DP 8.07
MacBook Pro 13” Early 2011
2.7 GHZ i7
8GB Ram
macOS Sierra

Since the audio device is dropping out, I'd suspect the problem lies there... (duh). You might start by reapplying the audio driver. I'd also try trashing the plist on DP (at least temporarily), however...

I'd start by disabling any plug ins as they are often the culprit in BTD issues. Also try disabling MIDI and audio tracks and see if disabling ANY of those elements allows a BTD successfully. If not, then I'm out of troubleshooting suggestions.

DP 8 was not my fav release by any means. It had lots of issues on my system. I'd strongly suggest updating to DP 9. Also, High Sierra is considered by some to not be ready for prime time. Just sayin...

Pretty sure this is an operator error but, without seeing your settings, I haven’t a clue. So tell us your BTD settings. For example, are you trying to bounce to mp3?

Otherwise, what happens when you bounce in real time?

You need to make sure the tracks are all assigned to a particular output pair, then when you run the bounce, make sure the source is set to that same output pair. It will then bounce the area that is selected.

You can test by assigning the tracks to a stereo bus pair, then choose that bus pair as your source. That way it won't care what output you have assigned.

If that doesn't work, you might try a different format. "Project Format" is the default. I think the LAME mp3 might require the installation of the LAME lib. (It's been a while).

I don’t think that wouldn’t explain why the audio assignment is changing. I’m blaming DP8 with High Sierra.
