DP and Yamaha MODX 6
Anyone working w/ Yamaha MODX6? I am new to this workstation and trying to setup MIDI recording with DP. Need serious help!

Re: DP and Yamaha MODX 6
Haven't used this axe but use other Yamaha gear successfully... here are a few thoughts:
Install the Yamaha USB Driver (unless Yamaha has abandoned it by now), then use USB for MIDI to and from your computer.
Assuming you are on a Mac, launch Audio MIDI Setup and look for your MODX6 in the MIDI panel; add device if it's not already there.
Locate the "Local Off" control on the MODX6; this disconnects the keyboard from internal sounds.
Put the MODX6 into "Multi" mode (probably what it's called) so multiple MIDI channels can address different sounds.
Set up DP to auto channelize MIDI; whatever track is record enabled will pass your performance to the corresponding device/MIDI channel. Also Check DP MIDI Preferences and note "Sync MIDI to Patch Thru" can cause issues with timing. If in doubt, turn it off. See DP Manual pages 219-220
