hi all... for some strange reason just suddenly yesterday, DP started naming my soundbites when I record in real time after the input name - for example, if the input is set to bus 23-24, the soundbite is named 'bus 23'.. not the track name... i've looked for a preference to change this, but can't seem to find anything... I'll RTFM more today, but if anyone has any tips about what to do about this, thank you in advance!
Merging the track results in the soundbite being name after the track name..
Soundbites named after input name, not track name

Is a puzzle. I think I can recall a window or more likely a preference where you told DP how to name soundbites: input, track, etc. Can't find that anywhere now, and the manual turns up nothing. Maybe it disappeared when SD II stopped being supported.

Re: Soundbites named after input name, not track name
Just got this reply from MOTU tech support...
Luckily there is an easy solution to this. Please open DP's Audio Monitor window and click the Mini Menu. Make sure "Base Names on Track" is checked.
Good to know... lol

Thanks for posting the answer. I had a look there and missed it, but there it is.

Re: Soundbites named after input name, not track name
Deceptively simple but since the terms are different from renaming sound bites almost impossible to find... I ended up reinstalling DP after trashing preferences ... Unfortunately wasted a few precious hours doing this...
