Post by N-U-M-A-N »

Hi, the last MOTU Audio Installer was from July 2017 and are 32 bits soft. Someone have tested this drivers with Mojave -a pure 64bits OS- (Macos 10.14) ??????

Thx

As you may have read by now, it's not an issue. Apple has kicked the can another year.

MOTU has been very good with releasing drivers in a timely manner, normally a few days after an OS release if a new one is required.

I have 10.13.6 and MOTU 896 doesn't work on it after the last update. the error state the driver is 32 bit and not compatible. The last driver from MOTU is very old, and according to tech support at MOTU, they do not plan to support the 896 with a 64 bit driver.

I'm a bit confused here. I am running a Traveler I on 10.13.6, and yes, when I first installed the latest driver (1.6 73220) I got the 32 bit warning, but I continued through the warning and everything is fine now. I think maybe something else may be going on here. Perhaps you can try reinstalling the driver or downgrading it to a previous version.

From OS 10.13,4 on, all 32 bit apps give that message the first time you run them. It is not an error.

High Sierra has a problem with corrupt paths on installation. A Safe Boot has helped many with this issue by resetting caches and paths to default.

I re-installed, and safe booted, still get the 32 bit error and the 896 is not 'seen' by the driver.

MOTU tech support mentioned an ALLOW button on the system preferences/ security tab, but I never saw that. the install seems fine, I can launch the driver, just doesn't recognize that there is a 896 attached. :-/ maybe I did the safe boot incorrectly? I verified I was in safe mode, I didn't;t do anything while in safe mode as my understanding was that just booting into safe mode would help. Am I mis understanding?
