Pitch Shift/Correction Bars Missing

Post by Elektroakoustika »

Hi everyone,

I am missing the MIDI bars that you see when editing the audio in the Sequence Window. I've got the "Pitch" layer selected but it looks like DP hasn't analyzed any of the audio for pitch.

Haven't done this since before 9.5 so I'm not sure if there was something that changed here. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks!

Hmm. I've not seen this before. Are you sure the vertical scale is within the range of the actual pitch? Did you try moving the slider on the left up and down and changing the zoom level? I'd also try the pitch layer on another track and see if the anomaly is track specific or project-wide. And perhaps try viewing it with "show lanes" selected. Try changing the pitch mode from Absolute to Relative and back again. Just some ideas. :?

Great minds think alike: I had tried everything you mentioned when this first happened and it still is nowhere to be found. I also tried restarting, opening an entirely new project and importing the audio, and nothing. Really lost on this one. Thanks for offering the suggestions though.

Anyone else run into this?

This is very odd. I can't duplicate this. For one thing, semitones should be showing on the pitch ruler. It looks more like a MIDI track. Shooting in the dark: What does your Preferences>Play and Record>Audio Options>Default Transpose Mode say? This info should be at the beginning of the soundbite, and I'm not seeing it. Is this info available in the Sound File Information window? Also what do the Preferences>General>Background Processing>DSP Analysis prefs say? If none of these provide any clues, I'd suggest trashing the preferences. If that doesn't work you might need a reinstall. Let us know how it goes.

What about older projects that you may have used pitch correction in? If you open one of them does the pitch layer show up properly? It would tell you if the problem is with the DP app or just with the project you're now working on, and whether a re-install/pref trashing, etc. is indicated.
