Trouble using Drum Loops
Greetings fellow users. It has been a long time since I have posted anything on this site. Been more concerned with gigging than recording. Anyway, I am settling down to do some song writing and want to use drum loops for my scratch tracks. I downloaded some loops from the Loop Loft and they are Wav files so I just assumed they would simply drop into a track. I have even tried importing and I hear nothing when I audition the file before importing. When I do import it, I can see it in the Waveform editor but not anywhere else. Hoping someone smarter than me can offer some assistance.

Re: Trouble using Drum Loops
That seems unusual. These maybe pretty basic, but here goes...
Are you using the desktop, click (not double click-just highlighted) on the loop and then hit the space bar? Are you hearing nothing?
(I'm gonna assume that you can hear all other audio except for these Loops.)
You should be able to drag them straight from the desktop (or wherever they are) directly into the Sequence Editor. No need to import. I'm assuming the Loops are stereo so, obviously, they need to be dragged into a stereo track.
When they are in the SE are the waveforms blank or normal looking?
And they definitely have the .wav extension?
In the mixer, the tracks' faders are not pulled down?
Master is up?
That's all I have for right now! Sorry if this seem sophomoric. I don't know your experience level.

Re: Trouble using Drum Loops
Thanks on the tip for auditioning directly from the folder. That does work. The files have .WAV extensions. When I drag the file to the SE and drop it in, a track pops up but there is no Waveform. The track is empty. As far as experience goes, I have been using DP since DP3 and am currently running DP8. It's just been a LONG time since I have done much recording other than 2 track editing of my live performances so my skills have dwindled. Thanks.

This will sound "stupid", but try changing the extension to lower case... .wav
I had something similar recently and this fixed it.
