If you do the MTP2 give yourself a few days to make the mental adjustment. Once you do, I suspect you'll never go back and you'll have the sweatiest palms in town!

Naw, the sweatiest palms in town belong to this guitarist I know.
I don't sweat. Really. Except in super-extreme circumstances (e.g. 110% humidity).

Interesting. Fleece makes me break out (though not as bad as polyester, which turns me crimson or even purple), but maybe there's one made from merino wool, which I recently discovered I'm OK with (just as with alpaca wool).

I don't have an issue with it. That said, there could be many causes. For example, it might be ergonomics, which can cause restriction in circulation that can lead to "cold" extremities (and further issues such as carpal tunnel if not dealt with early). It could be something totally unrelated to the mouse such as undiagnosed low thyroid issues. There are also claims from some individuals that they are sensitive to wireless signals and feel better by minimizing wireless exposure as much as possible. Or you might be allergic to the physical materials in this mouse (similar to how some guitarists are allergic to nickel strings). In other words, isolating the cause can be tricky.mhschmieder wrote:I don't get cold easily, and generally don't turn the heat on until it goes down to 48 degrees (or 52 degrees with humidity), and even then I only turn it to 55, 58, or 60 degrees.
So perhaps I am the only one who gets a chill while using the Apple Magic Mouse, but it bothers me as it causes me to be inclined to turn the heat on when I wouldn't otherwise, or to turn it higher.
That's especially not cool during a session, of course (noise).
I did a web search and found NOTHING, yet it is logical this would be the case as the mouse's base (which is gripped most of the time while using it) is metal. I may need to switch to an all-plastic mouse.
The cheapest quickest thing to try is a different mouse made from different materials. See if the symptoms persist or dissipate and go from there.

Re: Do other people get cold while using the Apple Magic Mou
It hasn't dipped as low indoors for a while now, so I haven't experienced the problem. There does indeed seem to be a cutoff point of 55 degrees or so, when the metal starts to suck the heat out of my body.
I was going to try the TrackPad 2 this weekend, but the constant babysitting of my first successful backups in three months, has been too distracting and also the fear of any change in the system causing yet another loss of USB-C connections.
