ive wrote motu about this 2 times since i first tried the updater for MSI lets hope they see this as a real problem and fix it although i was able to use fxpansions vst to au to wrap the vst version into an au that works but thats not the answer... and i guess we just have to wait until they release the correct bug free updater to MSI....

I had the same problem. I got a response from MOTU Tech support (via e-mail). It solved my problem. Here was their response:

Try moving the MSI.dat file directly into Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/MOTU/MSI. If there is an alias also called "MSI.dat" in that folder, delete it.

As I mention on another post, I had the same problem with Logic 7 crashing everytime I tried to open up MSI.I sent an email to MOTU and followed the instructions to move the Dat file to the appropriate folder......This has cured the Crashing problem However.........

The bug still remains where...if i do not select the MSi in logics arrange window
MSI sounds like ..what I could best describe as being played underwater, like a warbling sound... I have to hit spacebar, select MSI and it plays back ok

Not a major concern compared to the crashing, but still needs addressing, if I wanted 2 MSI's in the same arrangement I would be Buggered.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Happy to report my MSI appears to be working fine now!
the warbling sound stooped after I changed the Buffer rate to 512,

So ito reiterate move the Dat file to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/MOTU/MSI. if theres an alias delete it, try different buffer rates.

Hope everyone else has the same result

Crashing when bouncing

Post by RMD Music »

I've been experiencing a strange bug with MSI 1.1. When I load it into Digital Performer and then try to bounce any audio, it crashes DP. It doesn't do that with any other plug in instrument. Any ideas? Anyone else have this problem? I'm gonna try moving the .dat like mentioned in the previous posts just to see if that does anything.

What's your crashlog telling you? If it's not telling you anything, maybe post it here and we can have a crack at it.
