Trim Snapping

Post by matts9383 »

Hi,

I've been looking through the manual here and can't seem to find out how to do this...

If i'm trimming a waveform, how do i get it to snap to the grid? I have the grid bar on and the waveform itself will snap to it when i move it, but not when i'm trimming it?

Any ideas? I'm sure this must be easy and i'm just overlooking something.

Thanks,
matt

Highlight the grid area and press delete - it is the same as trim.

after i delete the selection do i have the option of dragging it back out again later if i want? Maybe trimming isn't the name of what i want to do, but something else? i'm basically trying to drag the length of the file.

Yes, editing in the Sequence Editor iss completely non-destructive and you can always drag the audio back. "Trim" is a Pro Tools term. In DP it is referred to as "Edge Editing."
