Re: DP9.13 Crash after delete-key-editing a region of audio.
I've had to install a "brain trap" every time I want to drag a fade. I have a lot of my shortcut keys set up to match Pro Tools Key Focus commands, so I just have to highlight a region, press F, and press enter. I wish DP was set up to where F would automatically make a fade on the selection without the dialog, and something like option-F would bring up the dialog for set fade lengths.

Motu is aware of it, as there have been responses on the Facebook DP group about it.ronsaltmarsh wrote:Any word on a fix? Crashing consistantly here too.
Like always... nobody can say when the fix will arrive.
Re: DP9.13 Crash after delete-key-editing a region of audio.
This 'crash on crossfade' thing is killing me - crashed about 20 times today alone trying to meet a deadline. I've sent a couple of Mac OS crash reports to MOTU but don't know if they read them.
Is this issue unique to 9.13? I just upgraded from DP8 straight to 9.13 so don't have v9.12 on my system.
I guess I could download 9.12 from the MOTU website but don't know if rolling back a version will cause even more problems. Hope they issue a fix soon...

FWIW, I'm running DP 9.13 with OS 10.9.5 on a Mac Pro and am not experiencing any problems.
I've been deleting regions and creating fades with impunity.
No problems or crashes with lots of audio editing.
I was about to jump to Sierra, but now I think I should just hunker down and enjoy the stability.

Yes to this crash among many other crashes for what seems like no reason. Also using 7 non-intensive AU plugs at 512 buffer setting and my processor is almost 50%...what? So far not very impressed with 9.13...so maybe we'll get another fix of this fix in 6 months or a year...

Yes. More edge edit crashes ! Had to revert to backups twice so far while mixing and doing trims. Will try again tomorrow.

I can report that after smashing my forehead against a wall over the fade+crash problem, I downgraded to 9.12 and have seemed to return to stability without issue. Running 10.11.6 on Early 2008 Mac Pro tower.

You can work in 9.13, save, then open in 9.12 to do your edge edits and fades till this is fixed. No forehead-smashing necessary.HafLer wrote:I can report that after smashing my forehead against a wall over the fade+crash problem, I downgraded to 9.12 and have seemed to return to stability without issue. Inelegant? Of course. A workaround generally is.

Re: DP9.13 Crash after delete-key-editing a region of audio.
I'm glad I finished my album this week. All the final mixes mixed down while in 9.13 and more crashes were noticed when editing. I'm hoping a new fix is coming shortly.

This fixed the problem for me. You'd never know it from looking at the MOTU download page, as DP9.13 still shows a release date of April 18. I did get an update notice through DP, though. I just wish MOTU would spend as much effort on their own website as they do on Facebook these days.
EDIT: Today, 5/19, I see the DP 9.13 upate has its download date updated to 5/16. Thanks!
