anyone use a Mackie Control Universal?

Do my eyes decieve me, or is the Mackie Control really 1000 dollars?

Is there a cheaper alternative?

Consider yourself lucky for here in Europe the Mackie controller's going street-price is 1200 euro's which is more like 1500 dollars - sure there are cheaper alternatives but nothing comparable or as fully integrated as the Mackie. Boy, how I wish they were going here (in Europe) for a thousand dollars - I'd buy two!!!

I did the upgrade and ordered the DP template. Everything works as it should.

Let me see if I can formulate the question.

The EXT "wants" to sit to the left of the MCU, the tracks default open on the MCU from left to right and then over on the EXT from left to right.

How might one have tracks default open on the EXT first so 1 through 16 will appear left to right across the two control surfaces matching my on screen mix board.

In DP when you set up your control surface, select of course Macki Control, then select 2 MCU options and arrange them the way you want them to be seen and addressed.

Fellow MCU and DP users please mail motu and ask them to rewrite this old mcu driver.. and also create a driver for the MCU C4.. i have mailed them and they seem to not care so much.. at this point editing effects on the MCU is broken.. the more of us that mail them the faster we will be able to fully use our expensive mcu's to the fullest..
