Change pitch bend wheel controller # in real time?
Hi,
So my piano (Yamaha DGX-230) only has a pitch bend wheel. It sends pitch bend data obviously.
My Garritan sounds use the Mod Wheel (controller #1) to change the volume of many sounds on the fly.
The DGX does not appear to give a way to change the CC # which the pitch bend wheel sends.
So I'm wondering if DP 9 has a feature which, on the fly, "catches" the incoming pitch bend data and in real time can transpose it to another CC # -- like #1 for volume.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi. So I found the custom console. See attached.
The pitch bend wheel (with these settings) is now effecting the volume (yay) but it is still sending pitch bend data. (boo)
I want it to only send volume data.....
Ideas?

Maybe one of the MIDI utilities, like MIDIPipe could be used to do the conversion before the MIDI messages get to DP.

MIDI effect insert>Reassign continuous data. You can then save presets for different controllers.

Thanks both of you.
My sense is DP is capable of it -- I don't think I need to go to a 3rd party util.
I can't find "MIDI effect insert"
"Reassign continuous data" is under "Region" menu -- as far as I can tell, it only works after the fact -- after you've recorded a track with controller data, you can re-assign it here.
I want to reassign in real time -- as I'm recording. And I want to make sure the original data -- pitch bend -- doesn't get thru.... only the reassignment (volume [7] or mod wheel [1]) does get thru...

Choose a MIDI track channel strip in the mixer, click on an insert, and you'll see the MIDI effects there to choose from.PDN777 wrote:
