I am a Pro bass player. Made a great living playing bass. When I saw this today it made me think I should have just studied keyboards... There are 13 short videos. Watch them and tell me what you think?

That's strange; could have sworn we had an ongoing topic for this product, but maybe Dave and I were just discussing it off-line in email... (I searched and couldn't find a prior topic).
At any rate, as a pro bassist, I too am quite surprised by this product from the demos so far, and pre-bought it on faith alone back when first announced, as I also like to support developers who are pushing the modeling envelope forward.
This may sound funny, but sometimes I find that good quality libraries push my own playing technique as they can make me aware of issues in my fingering, articulations, phrasing, etc. -- but only if they're really good libraries.
For instance, I'm not that great of a slapper (popping is fine, but I refuse to use compression as a "cheat" and am only semi-good at slapping on certain basses but not all basses). A good slap bass can be more easily studied than non-isolated tracks in a commercial recording, helping me to improve my eventual live overdubs of real bass.
I received an email a few minutes ago that MODO Bass is now ready for download.
I wasn't really expecting it until a week or two for now, but the timing is great, as I have a slap bass part that I ran out of time to re-track on my Geddy Lee Bass before the holiday, thus inspiring me to first compare it on MODO Bass while the MIDI mock-up is in good shape and not yet deleted.
I think it was Orange Tree Samples that I was using before for slap work, but it might be Impact Soundworks; I'll have to check once home. I don't use any of the Scarbee basses anymore due to poor fingering choices and other quirks.
I have been playing with it all morning... it's sick. So easy. The GUI may be the best design I have ever used on any VI. Yep should of just practiced more piano... But then there are the girls... they like guitar and bass players. If they go with the drummers you don't want to go near them. If they go with the keyboard players there is way to much talking...

Not a huge fan of IK. My experience with IK is limited to iOS where it has been consistently annoying and disappointing.
I'm fortunate to have a bass I like and really enjoy playing, so I don't feel all that drawn to want to deal with this in any way. The demos sound pretty clunky to me, but I don't doubt a person could get usable results with more careful sequencing.

I never thought I would be able to sing lead and play bass simultaneously. Then I got a gig where I had to do both. I was cured almost immediately.
It turned out to be pretty easy for me.
Back to the OP... on the fence about this one but I like a few of the demos. None of them sound remotely like the way I played, however. I may still go for it. Planning to place an order with Sweetwater tomorrow—may throw this onto the pile.

I stopped gigging a few years ago. When I don't play bass all the time my fingers get soft. So I can do a track and if I am doing a lot of slap and pull and then sliding with my left hand it's blister city in about 5 minutes. I do that a few times a month. So painful. I will be glad to take the time to do tracks with MODO. I would have to play at least and hour a day to keep calluses. That ain't gonna happen. I'd rather run scales on the keyboard...
