DP 9, MOTU plug-ins, settings values invisible?

Thanks to several helpful people on this forum I was able to transfer my DP 2.2 files through a Mac running DP 8 to my PC running DP 9. I have been living with an issue that I would now like to resolve so I ask for help again.

In DP 9 and 9.1 running on Windows 10 the settings values in MOTU plug-ins are not visible. I can move the dials and the effects function properly but the numbers do not display. It is like a contrast setting is too low and I just see white rectangles with no numbers where the settings values should be. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Try a reinstall. Sounds like a font problem to me.

An interesting thought about fonts. Is there a setting or part of DP 9.1 that could influence what font is used for MOTU plug-ins? Is there such an option for "contrast" or font color? Thanks

You might try setting a new "theme" in the preferences.

I tried several themes but the effects settings are still invisible. I can place the cursor in the white rectangle and enter a number to change the setting. I can use the plus and minus buttons to change a setting. I cannot see the numeric value of the setting. Has anyone else experienced this with DP 9.12 and Windows 10? Thanks

Try removing DP preferences and restarting DP. You may also need to reboot your PC. DP has some odd graphics issues that can crop up after using other applications (especially video playback in a browser), that can only be cleared with a reboot.

Prefs on Win8/10 should be in: c:/users/(username)/AppData/Local/MOTU/Digital Performer/Preferences

Just move the whole folder out temporarily and let DP rebuild it. If that works you can move defaults you need back in (such as Click Defaults, Click Patterns, Command Bindings, and the Document Templates folder). It's the Preferences file that is most likely to be an issue (if prefs are every an issue), but it is best to remove everything at first just to be sure.

Well, I just tested this on a Win10 system (not used for DP regularly - just infrequent testing like this), and I see the same problem - values are white against a white background in DP plugins - tested Chorus and Delay.

This is only an issue with DP plugins here - 3rd party VSTs are fine. And it is only on Windows 10 - Win 8.1 is fine, though I don't use many of DP's plugins. I'll double check just to be sure tomorrow.

It is likely a problem in DP's plugin text color defaults that is using some wrong Windows 10 default. Post a TechLink - it should be reported. I plan to upgrade my Win8 system to 10 soon, and this will be a problem for me as well.

But if you ever need to, it's under Support - Contact Technical Support Online (bottom of the Support page). You have to log into your MOTU account (from registering DP), and then you can post tech links from there.

It's been a while since I've been here, but I've had the same issue since win10 dropped. I had reported via techlink @ MOTU back then, and they confirmed/replicated.

I also have this issue in DP 8 on Win 10. Though I was running just fine for a while - seems to have cropped up recently for me - in the last couple of weeks.

Did MOTU have any fix for this?

Would you mind sharing the techlink so we can see what troubleshooting steps they had you follow?

Just an update on this:

I was able to fix this by doing a full install of DP. My plugin values now appear normally. Here's what I did

Make a backup of everything in /Users/[user]/AppData/Local/MOTU, and /ProgramData/Motu/for safekeeping
Uninstall DP
Clear the aforementioned folders to make sure no data is still hanging around
Re-install
