Mackie Control Send Out, Input, Output Selection in DP 9.12?
I am using a Mackie MCU Pro and I'm no longer able to select track Send Out, Input or Output through the controller in DP 9.12.
When choosing Send Value or Send Pan, turning the V-Pot will adjust those values and pushing the V-Pot will mute the send.
When choosing Send Out turning the V-Pot does nothing and pushing the V-Pot changes the send from post fader to pre fader.
Choosing Input or Output doesn't do anything when turning or pushing the V-Pot.
The controller is telling me that it's changing Send 1's value, Input value or Output value, but, it's not scrolling through a list like it used to.
My firmware is 4.0.3 for the MCU Pro.
Is there a separate Mackie Control software?
To make sure I'm doing this right, I'm hitting the Mode/I/O key on the MCU Pro, pushing the corresponding V-Pot for my choice and going to the specific track to use its V-Pot to change values. I can't remember when this last worked for me, but, it was at least this year. Also, this is the same on any track or fader on the controller.
Is anyone else experiencing this with other Mackie Control controllers?

Re: Mackie Control Send Out, Input, Output Selection in DP 9
I have a MCU sitting here on my WS desk but have not turned it on in several years. I just figured its not compatible any more.

Re: Mackie Control Send Out, Input, Output Selection in DP 9
I just tried selecting track inputs and outputs, along with send outputs. I initially used firmware 4.0.2, and then upgraded to firmware 4.0.3 (thanks, didn't know about that before!) and confirmed again. As you describe, the display notes the parameter name (e.g. "Send 1 output, of track Bass") but neither shows the value, nor edits the parameter.
You ask about separate software for the MCU. DP's control surface support is via MOTU plug-ins, stored in Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MOTU Control Surface. That's the only separate software that I'm aware of, in relation to DP.

Re: Mackie Control Send Out, Input, Output Selection in DP 9
In general, the MCU is solid with DP. Mostly I use it for volume, pan, mute, solo, rec enable - hardware controls are great for that stuff. I have an open issue with MOTU about plug-in parameter automation with non-MOTU plug-ins, part of which is related to use with the MCU - but for complex plug-ins, the screen is easier for editing anyway, imo.Timeline wrote:I have a MCU sitting here on my WS desk but have not turned it on in several years. Thank you, danatkorg!
I appreciate the confirmation. I guess it's DP related then.

If you have time, open a techlink with MOTU. The more people they hear from, the more likely it is that they'll bump up the priority.primeevolutionary wrote:Thank you, danatkorg!

Good idea. It's been so long since I've had an issue, I forgot about the techlinks.

Re: Mackie Control Send Out, Input, Output Selection in DP 9
I'm still using an original MC (not Universal, via MIDI), and with DP 9.02 have no issues with the rotary controls.
Just curious...what happens to Send Volume when you use FLIP to put it on the large faders?
I have the 9.12 download, but thanks to several posts on this forum I think I'll wait a little bit

Thanks for the thought, TinenTech. That didn't work.
Motu TechLink Brendan got back to me initially and asked me a few questions, but, I haven't heard anything back in the last two weeks.

I'm very late to this post. But I am looking for any assistance just a a tutorial with the mcu pro on digital performer. I am new to the Control surfaces. I don't even know how to jump back to the beginning of the sequence using the controller I'm still tapping one on the keyboard. Lol

Re: Mackie Control Send Out, Input, Output Selection in DP 9
Do you have the silk screen Digital Performer card for your MCU. The card that lists functions specific to DP and lays over the generic functions?
If so, the RTZ button gets you back to measure 1. If you don't have the overlay, it's the first button just above the REWIND button. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
