DP 9.1 sustain pedal not audible during recording
Just updated to 9.1 and I noticed when I play piano with sustain pedal it seems to work fine...but when I press record, the sustain pedal stops working. When I play back the recording, sustain pedal can be heard. Very annoying because I can't hear the sustain pedal working during recording~ Anybody else have this problem?

Working fine here. Have you tried rebooting the machine?

I just tried rebooting...It seems to work on the very first pass...then after that, it goes right back to the problem again~

Could the sustain be assigned to a MIDI Master?

What controller/keyboard are you using?
What brand/model of sustain pedal are you using?
This sounds like a hardware problem to me. It could be as simple as your sustain pedal
has a short. OR, you need to reverse the pedal's polarity (many have a little switch on the bottom
of the pedal, just move it to the other position, and then close your project and reboot your controller keyboard.)

Could the sustain pedal behavior be something to do with the new pre-gen feature. Looks like pre-gen can no longer be turned off. Closed VIs revert to pre-gen. ...i think that's what the what's-new doc says.
Do you get the same behavior if the VI's window is open?

Re: DP 9.1 sustain pedal not audible during recording
I'm using M-Audio Oxygen61 with an M-Audio sustain pedal~ They both work perfectly fine when I'm not recording...It's only when I push the record button, the sustain pedal cannot be heard...but the MIDI data is still recorded~ However, it seems to work fine while in Overdub Record mode~ but the problem persists in normal record mode~ Also, everything was working fine in 9.02 before I updated to 9.1~ This is very annoying~David Polich wrote:What controller/keyboard are you using?

Definitely seems like the same problem~ I reverted to 9.02 for now until someone can figure out a solution~JSmith1234567 wrote:I had not seen this thread, but please check out my thread over here from just installing DP 9.1...

I haven't had time to investigate this completely, and I duplicated the problem exactly once, but does anyone know if it makes any difference if the plug is in pre-gen or not? Also, what plug are you using? When I encountered this I was using Kontakt in pre-gen mode.
EDIT-well apparently pre-gen mode does not exist for live playing the way I understand it, now, but I'm getting over my head with some of the technical details.

So how could this possibly work with a plug played in real time?dix wrote:Pre-gen can't be turned off in 9.1.

Right. I don't know. Pre-gen is working under the hood in ways that no one around here seems to understand.cuttime wrote:So how could this possibly work with a plug played in real time?dix wrote:Pre-gen can't be turned off in 9.1.

Re: DP 9.1 sustain pedal not audible during recording
As I mentioned earlier it does seem to work while it's in Overdub Record mode for some reason...

I have had this problem as well. Had to go back to 9.02 to continue working on my project.
