I installed an SSD a good year ago.
Things seemed fast for a while.
I'm feeling like the import process is gradually getting slower and now it's obvious...they are indeed.
Am I doing something strange?
I want to import audio so I choose "import audio" from a right-click in bottom part of the soundbites window.
A window appears asking what I'd like to import. I select all the files I'd like to import in one, fell swoop. (NOTE: The files are located on my Desktop. There are no partitions on this solid state drive.) I then click "Open". I do not click "Add" as that seems to require an extra step.
I'm essentially copying them to another directory, correct?
What could be causing this overall lack of speed? I've seen this process go surprisingly fast before. It is no longer doing this.
Thanks for any advice.
Why are my imports so slow all of a sudden (8.07)?

Need more info. If you're on a Mac like mine, with a built-in SSD, you don't need Trim. If you have an added on drive, you might need Trim. I don't have any added SSDs (the 1TB SSD holds my boot partition and that's it); all projects are on spinners via FW to TB convertors, or direct to TB.
That is, of course, assuming that drive health may be your issue. I suspect it is. Normal stuff like permissions repairs should be routine. Again, that is now an OS specific aspect so please post your specs in your sig - why does that sound dirty?
Make sure all your drivers and software are up to date (another machine specific aspect). And it could be something completely different, like a bad cable or power supply.
