DP has a manual. Roland has manuals. Manuals have diagrams.

Unfortunately, neither the DP 5 nor the Edirol manuals are available for download. Both are long discontinued. DP 5 will not authorize after OS 10.6.x with Rosetta.
There are also YouTube videos. The info is out there.

You want us to create diagrams for a random internet dude who didn't even bother to intruduce itself?
Do you feel you are just divinely entitled to demand things like that?

If you are still confused after reading manuals and looking at diagrams, I don't think anything I could write would make sense to you, either. Nonetheless, I'll offer just a few tips.
First, think of MIDI and Audio as two completely separate things, even though you will use gear that has MIDI and audio connections.
In the MIDI world, you have to think about what direction the MIDI information is flowing from and to. For example, you have:
MIDI controller (keyboard) --> MIDI interface --> DAW recording
In words, your keyboard sends notes and stuff into your interface, and your interface passes it on (via USB or Firewire) into your computer.
Then you have:
DAW playback --> MIDI interface --> MIDI synth module (or keyboard)
In words, your DAW plays MIDI tracks that sometimes send to Virtual Instruments (VI's) within the DAW. When the MIDI track is transmitting to an external sound source (a hardware synth) it will follow the above path.
Please note that when you are connecting the MIDI side, you will go from the MIDI OUT of one, to the MIDI IN of the next thing in the chain.
OK, with audio, you kind of follow similar signal path stuff. Once a synth is getting MIDI notes-- either directly from its own keyboard (locally) or from its MIDI IN port, then audio will be produced that is available at its audio outputs. You can monitor (listen to) your synths from their own headphone outs, or connect the outs of your synth to the ins of your interface and monitor from your interface.
Once you have your MIDI cables and audio cables and headphones/speakers all connected, then you have to do a little configuring within the software of your computer to route the signals digitally. That's really something that you'll have to refer to those manuals for.
On a Mac, you would at least need to open the application called AudioMIDI Setup which has both a MIDI window and an Audio window where you can make some basic settings. The interface might also have another driver and some addition software where you can set up a little virtual mix and route signals to/from your DAW.

MIDI vs. Audio. Contrast and compare. Show your work. All must be typewritten and double-spaced, and turned in to my office by 8:00 AM. Any late papers will automatically be docked a grade.

Re: What is the best AUDIO MIDI INTERFACE SETUP DIAGRAM for
This is a basic interface. It will not work without the proper drivers, still available from Roland.
http://roland.com/support/article/?q=downloads&p=UA-25
DP 5 is a pretty straightforward version. You do have to be able to make sense of the manual for it to do anything. You need to know how Audio MIDI Setup works and then how to set it up within DP. Use the search function – between that and the manuals, everything you need to know is there.
You do have a manual set for DP 5, right?
You have not given any indication of what Mac you have and the OS. Anyone who tries to help needs to know these things. I have no idea if this can work on your system.
This is not where you learn DAW 1A. As I mentioned in my first post, there are plenty of videos online that can help you with this. There's a separate board on this forum with links. When I Googled your interface, plenty of videos came up, also.

Re: What is the best AUDIO MIDI INTERFACE SETUP DIAGRAM for
It's a lot like a steam locomotive. There's stuff that goes in, a bunch of rods and levers to pull, some wheels get turned, stuff mixes together and some stuff acts upon other stuff, some work is done, and out comes more stuff and a LOT of sound. You may have to remap some of the metaphorical variables here.
Maybe it's not exactly what you want, but it's better than any diagram I could draw:

Or you could use the ones in the manuals. Your choice.

Re: What is the best AUDIO MIDI INTERFACE SETUP DIAGRAM for
What operating system?
Does Audio MIDI Setup see your interface in the audio window? Does it see your MIDI devices in the MIDI window?
If not, do you have the right drivers installed for your Edirol?
If so, you will find the diagrams you need in your manuals and in the YouTube videos.

I don't recall whether this feature was available in DP 5, as it has since been removed, however under the "Setup" menu there used to be an "Auto Configure" device option. I used it several times to configure devices that DP would not otherwise recognize.
