9 Bug? Can’t manually POINTER select sub track in COMP mode
As the video shows,
If I am in comping mode, with the sub tracks showing normally associated with comping, I can no longer successfully SWITCH from the comping tool to the pointer tool to manually select/copy/edit a sub track. When I switch from comp tool to the pointer or any other “selecting” tool, the highlighting only occurs in the “comp” track, ignoring the pointer’s true selection, which is one of the sub takes.
I used to be able to switch tools in DP 8, manually selecting a note in a sub track , editing, or copying and merging it into the comp. This was vital for instances wherein I want a sub tracks note but wish to paste it into a different TIME location in the comp track. If I cannot use this manual method, I can never easily comping forward or backward in time because the comp tool only places selected material in the same time location as the source track
Please see video. And verify this as a bug or not.

Re: 9 Bug? Can’t manually POINTER select sub track in COMP
I found a work-around for the comping tool/pointer selection bug.
While you cannot pointer highlight any sub track in comp mode, you can do this:
1) Drag your mouse over any part of a sub track you would like to put into the comp track. Tis will INCORRECTLY highlight the comp track, (this is the bug).
2) Click the left sub track NAME. This will move the highlight point DOWN to the sub track. You can now copy the sub track soundbite and it will be in the clip board.
3) now highlight up in the comp track to wherever you wish to past or merge and paste/merge.

Has anyone else noticed this programming weirdness or “bug” if that’s more appropriate? Hard to believe no ones chimed in on this?

I finally got around to trying this. I find it working exactly as it should, and did in V8. I can switch tools while comping using 1 or 2 taps, and do edge edits, and other sound bite edits in the take lanes.

One man's "bug" is often exactly that.

I have this exact same bug and have added it to the list going to MD.toodamnhip wrote:Has anyone else noticed this programming weirdness or “bug” if that’s more appropriate? Hard to believe no ones chimed in on this?
Had to revert to DP 8 to edit vocals on the last project.
